Community involvement
Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.
Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)
Our P&C is a group of parents, carers and school community members. They assist with school planning, fundraising, events and volunteering. Our P&C works in partnership with our school to promote the interests of our school community.
Joining the P&C a great way to meet other families, get involved and contribute to our school's future. We would love to have you on board!
The Seaforth Public School Parents & Citizens Association warmly welcomes you to our Seaforth Public School community.
About P&C
The P&C is an active group of volunteer parents, carers and community members that work with the school to enhance the school experience for the whole school community, via our four high-level objectives:
1. Supporting education through the outdoor environment and play spaces
2. Supporting education through the use of technology
3. Supporting education through enhanced classroom resources, and
4. Connecting our community through fun and inclusive events
In addition, the P&C provides a forum for the school, parents and community to communicate and have input in school decision making.
The Seaforth P&C operates the school uniform shop, and any profit generated is reinvested in our fundraising efforts and donated back to the school. Uniforms can be ordered online at
Fundraising and Giving Back
Volunteers from the P&C host numerous events throughout the year, providing opportunities for the whole family to participate. Look out for events like: fun runs, big nights in/out, trivia nights, camp outs, Mother’s & Father’s Day breakfasts, kids’ discos, movie nights and more. Through the events, the P&C acts as a major fundraiser for the school to enable the school to supplement the budget in many areas. More recently, the P&C has introduced a Corporate Sponsorship program and an annual voluntary contribution, both of which have added much needed funds.
Funds raised are donated to the school for specific items. In recent years, the P&C has donated funds to the new Kempbridge Playground equipment, the new on-site OHSC, new Astro Turf at Yatama oval, air conditioning in all classrooms at Kempbridge Avenue, new lunch areas and seating at both campuses, and in classroom technology (Smart Boards, Chrome Books and iPads). But it is not just about the big items; the P&C will help the school with several smaller requests throughout the year, e.g. sports equipment, grounds maintenance, books, etc.
Get Involved – We can’t do it without you!
The adage of “many hands….” And “it takes a village…” could not be truer when it comes to the P&C. The success of our efforts relies on volunteers, be it volunteering at an event, grant writing or lending a hand at our termly working bees, we can find a role for everyone.
If you would like to be involved or simply hear what is happening at school, please come along to our meetings held once each term on a Monday at 7pm in the Kempbridge Library (Dates will be advertised). These are open meetings and are attended by members of the school executive as well as parents. The agenda is circulated in advance, but there is always an open session where any matters can be discussed. Regular updates are provided from the Principal, Uniform Shop, as well as Fundraising/Events, and school related local issues.
Membership of the P&C is just $2 and is a great way to get involved in your child’s schooling experience. If you already have a specific area of interest, would like to be involved or simply learn more about please email seaforthpc@gmail.com to join one of our volunteer WhatsApp groups.
